Calvin Mayfield, Manager in the Network Tools – Performance Management Group, leads a network of engineers and application developers that analyze data to identify network performance indicators that will impact customer experience. Maintaining positive customer experience is of utmost importance to Sprint, thus his department is critical to future expansion efforts for LTE Advanced and voice over LTE across the country. Calvin’s leadership is a vital factor in ensuring that data and analytics are available to address why issues occur and opportunities for resolution.

Mr. Mayfield’s education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Digital Mathematics. He is the recipient of several honors in his field of study including: Blue Key Honor Society, Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, Eta Kappa Nu Electrical Engineering Honor Society, Phi Beta Sig-ma Scholar Award, National Society of Black Engineers Scholar Award and Kansas State University (KSU) Minority Engineering Program.

With over 19 years of experience at Sprint, Calvin has held numerous positions within the IT and Network organizations. Key leadership roles and accomplishments have included leading strategic initiatives as a program manager, managing development efforts for the Sprint mobile optimized web application as devel-opment supervisor, and managing network analytics in his current role. Calvin has received recognition for his performance and has been nominated for the Sprint excellence award twice. Calvin demonstrates his leadership with his direct team and beyond. He serves as the President of the Diamond Network – Sprint’s African diaspora focused employee resource group.

With a commitment to service, Mr. Mayfield combines his interests in youth and sports. He coached young people on YMCA football and basketball teams and the Turner Recreational League baseball teams. He also has had extended service in various roles with the Boy Scouts of America for over 16 years. Devoted to seeing youth succeed, Calvin has been a math and science tutor. His volunteerism also includes helping his alma mater – and serving on the Kansas State University Alumni Association Board of Directors.
