D.C. Broil, mentor, professor, and Director. Professor Broil serves as the Director of Kansas City Kansas Community College Forensic Laboratory and Coordinator of the Forensic Chemistry Degree Program. The Kansas City Kansas Community College Forensic Laboratory provides narcotic analysis for Kansas City Kansas Police Department and expert narcotic testimony for the Assistant District Attorneys of Wyandotte County Court.

She earned a B.S. in Chemistry, B.S. in Biology, M.S. in Education, and is currently completing research for a M.S. in Chemistry. Professor Broil was trained to be a Criminalist or Forensic Chemist at the Los Angeles Sherriff’s Department Criminalistics Laboratory for Narcotics, Blood Alcohol, Toxicology, and Crime Sce-ne Investigation. With over 15 years of field experience, Professor Broil continues to be recognized.

In addition to being recognized in her field, she has a ‘life-time’ membership with the NAACP and has been a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) for 14 years. Professor Broil was recognized campus wide for her faculty assessment rubric; due to its outstanding way of easily supporting student learning out-comes.
As a teacher for Kansas City Missouri School District at Lincoln College Preparatory Academy, she partici-pated in coaching Science Olympiad, where she assisted in the first Forensic Science Event (2004) used for student activities for judging. She volunteers each October for the Health Careers' Fair at Metropolitan Community College - Penn Valley. Professor Broil participates in providing science activities (DNA isola-tion) to introduce High School students to a possible science and health career opportunities. She has also volunteered with the Kansas City Summer STEM camp to share information in a relaxed environment with the youth. She is often known to say "…walk in the room like you belong...".
