Welding Instructor

Department: Academics Reports To: Team Manager
Classification: Non-Exempt Dates of Posting: 1/13/15 – Until Filled

Status: Full-Time

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform as an instructor in a regular vocational classroom setting presenting instruction in welding mechanics. Promote a positive atmosphere within the classroom setting conducive to optimal training, learning, and motivation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor Degree in Vocational Education or Industrial Education with emphasis in Metal Trades and three years experience as a vocational instructor or equivalent required.
OR
Associate Degree in Vocational Education or Industrial Education with emphasis in Metal Trades and seven years of recent trade experience or as a vocational instructor required. Successful completion of an approved program of teacher preparation program; required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• (Up to three years of trade experience may be waived for the successful completion of the National Occupational Competency Test.)
• Certification by passing tests according to standards published by the American Welding Society or Mechanical Engineers, Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code required.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
• State Teacher's Certificate preferred.
• Vocational Certification required.
• A valid Regular Drivers License is required.
